The Christmas Angel flies over the skyline of Manhattan. Smoke rises from the vanished Twin Towers, reminding us of the tragedy of September 11, 2001. It could just as easily be rising above beleagured Baghdad, Beirut, Jerusalem or Ramallah. Or from many other countries and continents in the world, including Afghanistan, Spain, England, Africa, Russia, Fiji. Our planet seems more dangerous every day. Will we never feel safe? The Christmas Angel expresses our universal longing for an end to war. Christmas Angel, bring us love and joy. Bring us peace, we pray! |
